BRIEF BIO

Curly Morris was born and raised in The Bronx, NY. It was there that as a child he received several state level writing awards before he ever left elementary school, skipped over the 3rd, 5th, and 7th grades and was dubbed by his teachers and faculty as the next Langston Hughes. His mother moved he and his four siblings to Windsor, North Carolina when he was a teenager, to escape an abusive father, and husband. While in North Carolina, between brushes with the law, Curly managed to become a proficient enough athlete to land a spot on the All-Army international track and field team, a move that would help him pay for college, eventually winning a full scholarship to the University of Nebraska where he became an All American athlete, by his sophmore season. A knee injury on a football field in Europe derailed his dream of making the NFL and began a downward personal spiral that would engulf Curly, the people who loved him and most of his sanity. He redisovered his passion for writing while being treated for depression at the VA hospital in Fayetteville, North Carolina, the city where he later published his first book under the tutelage of Mary Stearns Hendrickson, a local philanthropist and community activist. That book, "New Word Order Volume 1", was the world's first peek into the psyche of this compassionate, talented but obviously distraught young man. After modest sales, and rave critical reviews, Curly moved to Atlanta, GA to further his writing career as well as start a new company. He has honed his skills for the past couple of years by rediscovering another passion of his, following the NBA's New York Knicks. Curly's aspirations for sports journalism can be found at NYKBASKETBALL.COM, NYSPORTSDAY.COM and several other internet based sports magazines. " Nigga Pays", is a hard look at the economic impact and social manipulation of what Curly calls "nigga culture". There is a literary storm headed your way. The first of it's kind in quite some time, and it's named Curly Morris.
